Summer house project, Waterlooville

Project Overview

Customers came to LJ Carpentry & Building Ltd asking advice on how to re-vamp their summer house which was leaking, rotten in places and needed a lot of attention. After discussions with the customer. We came up with a solution which included fitting new oak glazed panels and hardwood cladding to the summer house. We also replaced timber posts which had rotted through. One of the main problems with the existing summer house was the glass panels didn’t have a window cil at the bottom of them, therefore water was laying on the timber and causing it to rot and working its way back into the house. We fitted a new hardwood cil and raised it on brickwork to stop this happening again. Once the job was complete, the summer house was a great space for sitting and relaxing. The external timber was weathered, wouldn’t rot and wouldn’t have to be maintained in the same way a softwood construction would, Perfect!

Job took 4 days to complete and we organised the complete project. After work was complete we cleared all rubbish and soil which was remaining to leave the site tidy and safe.
